City of Medford, Oregon code — the following is a draft I got from city hall, do not assume this is a legal opinion. It was created because we are entering primary election season.<\/p>\n

ELECTION SIGNS<\/p>\n
Medford Municipal Code regulates size, placement, and timing of election signs.<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Signs cannot be displayed earlier than eight weeks prior to any federal, state or local election and must be removed no later than seven days after the applicable election<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Each sign is limited to six square feet in area and a maximum height of six feet<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Signs may not be placed in the public right-of-way or on city property<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You must have property owner permission to place signs on their property<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Signs must be placed behind the sidewalk; they may not be placed on the grass strips between the street and the sidewalk<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On streets with no sidewalks, signs must be placed behind the curb and not hang into the street<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At intersections, signs must be placed beyond the site distance triangle<\/p>\n
Medford Municipal Code also prohibits the placement of handbills, papers, stickers or advertising matter in or on any automobile or windshield without the express consent of the owner. Any information left at residences cannot be affixed to the door using tape and must be secured to prevent litter.<\/p>\n

Planning, signage is now Code sections 10.1000 through 10.2010, which is quite a bit to add to prospective candidate packets. Could we add the language above to and if the contact Planning, is there a certain number (person) they should call?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
