Make no mistake, we\u2019re also interested in the notion of curing, but that isn\u2019t our primary focus. It\u2019s not that a cure is too <em>much<\/em> to hope for;\u00a0it\u2019s just that it is too <em>little<\/em>. We view healing and curing as parallel paths, sometimes overlapping, often intertwining\u2026 but distinct paths nevertheless.<\/p>\n<p>It is possible to be cured but not healed, healed but not cured, or both, or neither. Of the two, curing is sometimes beyond our personal influence and the efforts of those around us, but healing doesn\u2019t have to be.<\/p>\n<p>The root of the word \u201chealing\u201d is \u201cto make whole\u201d.
