{"id":1055,"date":"2014-12-30T14:32:55","date_gmt":"2014-12-30T22:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/systemsolver.com\/StatlerBlog\/?p=1055"},"modified":"2014-12-30T14:32:55","modified_gmt":"2014-12-30T22:32:55","slug":"xrdp-clipboard-and-console-screen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systemsolver.goodhealthyday.com\/StatlerBlog\/2014\/12\/30\/xrdp-clipboard-and-console-screen\/","title":{"rendered":"xrdp clipboard and console screen"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Goals:<\/h3>\n<h3>When I remote desktop I want to connect to the console screen most of the time.<\/h3>\n<h3>I want the clipboard to work between windows and linux.<\/h3>\n<h2>When I remote desktop I want to connect to the console screen most of the time.<\/h2>\n<p>To get the console screen when connecting do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In Linux, open for editing<br \/>\n\/etc\/xrdp\/xrdp.ini<\/li>\n<li>In the section<\/li>\n<li>The section [xrdp1] can be changed to look like this:<br \/>\nname=sesman-Xvnc<br \/>\nlib=libvnc.so<br \/>\nusername=ask<br \/>\npassword=ask<br \/>\nip=127.0.0.1<br \/>\nport=ask-1<\/li>\n<li>The only change is from &#8220;port=-1&#8221; to &#8220;port=ask-1&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The &#8216;ask&#8217; in port gives an opportunity to make changes to the log in<\/li>\n<li>When connecting remotely the first connected screen will show:<br \/>\n&#8220;error &#8211; problem connecting&#8221;<br \/>\nIgnore this and click the OK button<\/li>\n<li>The next screen defaults to &#8220;sesman X11rdp&#8221;, but you can select &#8220;console&#8221; in the module drop down list. Use the default option module &#8220;sesman X11rdp&#8221; for connecting to a different session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An interesting thing to note: You can create an xsession file automatically so when a different user logs on they will get the same session each time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/c-nergy.be\/blog\/?p=6050\">http:\/\/c-nergy.be\/blog\/?p=6050<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>When using RDP to remote in, I want the clipboard to work between windows and linux.<\/h2>\n<p>It will go from Linux to Win7 but not the other way around.
