Nice Windows program to use for search and delete text in PDF as in redaction.
It worked on Linux via Wine/PlayOnLinux. I only fully tested it on Linux. It would successfully replace a social security number with either blanks or x’s.
With Wine it wouldn’t open the new file to view directly, but drag and drop into the program from a linux file manager did work.
Trying to replace with a long string of words was not successful but then I dont’ have a use for that. It would probably replace someone’s name successfully but I dont’ have a need for that.

This is fast! and uncomplicated!
The attorney office I work with does a lot of PDF redaction of social security numbers and as far as I could research, and before finding A-PDF Text Replace, Acrobat Pro was the only PDF editor that can do this kind of search and replace. And, again, it is so fast! That office is turning to Linux so it is nice to have this work for that.
