“If the homeless runaways come up with any cash, they move into the Youth Hostel at 718 South Street (305)296-5719. They sleep 6 to a room, but it only costs $18.95 per night.”
Found that quote at http://www.peeniewallie.com/2006/04/emergent_behavi_1.html
Think that would work in Medford? Set up a youth hostel and encourage the kids to rent a room and then over occupy it?
On one site they talked about the cultural need for a youth hostel…indicating that a city couldn’t be classed as international if it didn’t have one.
A search of Oregon Statutes for hostel didn’t really show anything regarding regulations. No search of Medford Municiple Code turned up anything either.
A search of Ashland Municiple Code did turn up some references. Unfortunately none of those lead to any full understanding of how Ashland treats the hostel.
Oh well, no easy set of links here. Phone calls now, I guess.
