I like this quote from a purpose statement regarding a PBS/Oregonian special on Meth.
Gene Haislip, a former deputy administrator at the DEA, says: “They live in the business community, where the name of the game is to make money and sell product. They’re highly skilled, very well organized and very well funded, and they can be quite formidable.” |
I’m not quoting it, like PBS did, in reference to meth and the pharmaceutical industry. I’m quoting it to apply to all well funded corporations. From what I understand, any publicly traded company is open to the threat of a stock-holder lawsuit if the management doesn’t maximize profits.
